Chapter 75

Star City Classic T-Birds

We are Detachment 75 of Classic Thunderbird Club International, located in the southwest area of Virginia with members roughly within a 50-mile radius of Roanoke.

The club’s purpose is to promote interest in the preservation and restoration of the Ford Thunderbird automobiles with special emphasis on the ’55, ’56, and ’57 models.  There is no requirement for ownership of an early Thunderbird or any other type of later Thunderbirds.  We are a source of information and often help members with maintenance issues with our early Thunderbirds.

Our club is relatively small with 28 active and honorary members. We meet monthly on the third Saturday of most months for breakfast and a meeting at the Greenwood Restaurant on US Rt 11, a few miles north of the I-81/US 220 interchange in Troutville north of Roanoke.

During the “driving season” from April through October, we plan various driving events to car shows, festivals, and lunch destinations, usually one-day, with an occasional weekend outing.  These are usually additive to our monthly meetings but occasionally are in lieu of a meeting.

Contact our President, Russ MacDonald:  phone: 540-552-7485 or EMAIL, for further information regarding our club and possible membership.
