The 1955/56/57 gear mechanisms of the power window drive assemblies basic part numbers 23394 left side and 23395 right side are more than likely the most neglected mechanical gear driven parts when it comes to lubrication. There is a very good reason they are neglected which is due to the fact they are not easily accessed. They are mounted on the power window regulator assembly basic part numbers 23208 right hand and 23209 left hand mounted inside the door. The attached picture show one of the gear drive assembly with the cover removed. This one reveals hardened grease. If you hear a gear noise while operating the power windows it could be a dry and worn gear drive assembly.
