Chapter 95

Modesto Area Classic Thunderbird Club

Our club was organized in 1981 and we received our Charter in 1982. The objectives of this organization are to promote the preservation and restoration of 1955, 1956 and 1957 Ford Thunderbirds; to provide a medium to exchange ideas / technical information and safety as well as attend events, social activities and promote friendship.

The club meets monthly at various times and venues such as restaurants, homes, etc.

Tours are planned at various times and are arranged by club members who volunteer to plan these activities.

Dues are due in January of each year. To be a member of our club you must also be a member of the Classic Thunderbird Club International (CTCI). Dues for our club are $35.00 per year plus a $25.00 initiation fee. CTCI dues are $37.50 plus a $15.00 initiation fee. (This includes the CTCI magazine called the EARLY BIRD.) Dues for CTCI are pro-rated according to the month you join.

A newsletter is published by our club each month which gives information about meetings, tours and other items of interest.

We always encourage you to invite guests and prospective new members to attend our meetings and functions.

Each year we get together with six other clubs for two or three days. This group was formed in 1978 when five clubs decided to meet together once a year for a fun time, and was called Quint Club. Since then other clubs have joined or dissolved and is now referred to as QC+. These clubs take turns planning activities, poker runs, a mini car show, etc., in their area; with an awards banquet held on the last evening. There are usually 50 or 60 T-Birds at these great events. Fun!
