Chapter 79

Sierra Nevada Classic T-Birds – Northern Nevada Area

The Sierra Nevada Classic T-Bird Club was formed in 1976 and chartered in 1978. Although based in Reno, Nevada, our members come from all areas of Northern Nevada, and the Lake Tahoe region of Nevada and California.

The club does parades around the area and also a number of mall shows. Members have participated with their cars in CTCI regional and international conventions, and we hosted the 1979 regional at the world famous MGM Grand in Reno, which is now the Hilton Hotel. We again hosted the Region 3 Convention in 2001.

We participate in parades and homecomings in our area, and helped found Hot August Nights, maybe the biggest car show in the United States. We still participate in holding that event, this last year being involved in the Poker Run.

We make yearly trips for parades to Tonopah, Fallon, and Nevada City, and a number of smaller towns in Nevada and California. Monthly events are scheduled and the driving of Classic T’Birds is encouraged.

We invite you to attend our membership meeting, on the fourth Tuesday of odd numbered months at 7:00 pm, at Silver State Resorations at 4655 Aircenter Circle, Reno, NV.

We encourage your participation in our club to share in our fellowship and enthusiasm for our Thunderbirds. Initial dues are prorated depending on the month you join. Annual dues are $12 per person.
