Chapter 41

New Jersey Open Road Thunderbird Club

The New Jersey Open Road Thunderbird Club (NJORTC) has been serving the northern half of New Jersey for more than 25 years. We have 35 members on an average, with about two thirds of these active at any given time. Most of our members own a classic T-Bird, and some own several, but you don’t have to own a classic T-Bird to be a club member. Enthusiasm for the “early bird” is enough! We have a mixture of men and women members, and an assortment of ages.

Our monthly meetings are held at the house of a member with a short business meeting, followed by social time, refreshments and a meal provided by the host or hostess. In addition to monthly meetings, we have a very active schedule of activities and host an annual “Mini-Concours”.

The New Jersey Open Road Thunderbird Club hosted the CTCI Region 1 Conventions in 1991, 1999 and 2007. We also hosted the CTCI International Convention, “Migrate to the Garden State – New Jersey 2002”,
