Due to a miscommunication between CTCI office staff and our mailing house representative, the 2012 Roster will be coming out with the July/August issue of the EarlyBird along with your membership cards. We apologize for the information not getting out on time. Thank you for your understanding.

The Board of Directors may appoint a Managing Director to oversee the normal operation of the office. He/She will conduct any advertising for office positions or teh contract of temporary employees from staffing agencies. Responsibilities include:

Know and understand all duties and functions of Office Manager, Office Assistant and Promotions Manager.

Assign Duties to Office Manager as required with appropriate follow-up.

Coordinate and take action to Board of Directors communication

Official CTCI directives toward office functions shall be via the President.

Compute, tabulate and issue payroll checks per bi-weekly policy.

Approve all billings prior to making or requesting payment.

Assist in membership communications on subjects not routinely encountered.

Assist Treasurer in banking functions.

A small group of individuals met in New Bern, NC in October 2011 to explore the possibilities. We have subsequently had two more meeting and the enthusiam and membership is growing. At our last meeting, we established our name-Carolina Classic Thunderbirds-and elected our officers. This is a volunteer position, no coding or design experience needed. The new Electronic Editor will be asked to gather chapter/membership information for inclusion in the website, monitor the website for areas in need of updating,and then forward to the Office Manager all edited information needed for site uploading. If you are a President of one of the local Chapters of CTCI, you should have already received a copy of the Chapter Report for 2012. Please return these forms to the office by February 24th, 2012 so we can make sure that all the information going into the new roster is current.

The CTCI Office is trying to keep the website as updated as possible. If you do not have a Chapter page or a link to your own Chapter website, now is the time to let us know what you want. We want to keep your Chapters as updated as possible and can only do it with your help. Please let us know if you are interested in having a page on our website so new potential members can have access to your clubs.

Congratulations to the newly elected Directors, Pat Le Strange, Region 1; Keith Zimmerman, Region 3 Martin Bierman, Region 5;and Dave Van Winkle, Director-At-Large.

For those members that want their spouse listed in the 2012 Roster, just include both the member and spouse names on the "name" line of the dues envelope when sending in your dues. This is not a requirement but an opportunity. The Board of Directors added this benefit with the dues increase that was approved this year.

The CTCI Board has voted to increase the dues from $32.50 to $35.00, an increase of $2.50 for 2012. The increase was not taken frivolously. I stated in the last EarlyBird that that the Directors were struggling with the CTCI budget. A resolution was passed in 1999 by the Board of Directors, requires the Board to have a balanced budget for the year. CTCI was in the red in 2010 and estimates by our Treasurer have indicated a continuing deficit in 2011. With the addition of the cost of printing of the Roster in 2012, it was prudent to increase income to provide the balance needed for expenses. Under the Car Tech section of this website, there is a new index for the Restoration Manual that includes all the current information, including Addendum I. This information will help those of you that already have the Restoration Manual decipher where you need to look for information within the manual. Check out the new index.

The CTCI office has noticed an error on the new Merchandise Order Forms. Please note that if you are purchasing Item # 110-2006A5, 110-2006A6, or 110-2006A7 the form says $120.00. This price should now be $130.50 for each of those items. We are sorry for the inconvenience of the incorrect price.

The CTCI office is now accepting photos of your car for the photo gallery on the home page. We hope to see many entries so that the website remains updated. If you are interested in sending in a photo, please send it via e-mail to: ctci2@msn.com in a jpg format.
